Our Holistic Model
” You have to understand that no one puts their children in a boat unless the water is Safer than the Land. Home is the mouth of a shark, home is the barrel of the gun and no one will leave home unless home chased you to the shore “ – Warsan Shire
Economic Independence
In our social enterprise participants design, create, and manage a line of unique, hand-made fabrics, and other textiles. By saving their earnings, members of the sewing for living project can pay their rent, feed their families, cover household expenses, and eventually launch their own successful businesses.
Education
We recognize the importance of education which made us create a space where women can learn basic English, learn their civic process. limited schooling limits the potential of women and girls to rebuild their lives, protect themselves against abuse and take a lead in shaping the lives of their communities.
Social Empowerment
We believe that in order to make a lasting change, women need skills and resources to build their self-confidence and self-esteem. Our Monthly "Shax iyo Sheko" Which means Tea and Talk in English have created a space that helped the women we serve build support Network to share experiences and access new resources.
